Roarie

Recently (about a month ago from the time of this blog post) traveling model Roarie got in touch with me to work with her while she was in Maine for a few days.  It was so great to get a chance to work with a professional model and learn from her.  It was such a fun, relaxing time and interesting as a Maine native to have someone here who has never been to Maine before.  It made me see all the things I as a Mainer that I take for granted such as the snail and sea shells (she had to keep some to send to her sister).  Certainly put things in perspective and made me appreciate living here. The weather was a little bit chilly but Roarie was willing to put up with anything for the sake of art.

Half way through I had Emma (who after meeting we realized we are cousins, but that's another story for a future blog post) come down and put some makeup on Roarie.  The intention for the second half of the session was to be a little more bold with the opportunity I had.  It's not everyday I get to work with someone that knows the business so I figured I should take the opportunity to do something I never get to do.  The idea was to go for an Audrey Hepburn meets modern editorial makeup meets the color pink. Hopefully my vision came through in the photographs.  And a special thanks to Emma for really helping me out that day.

Half way through it was time for Emma to work her magic and I am so pleased with the hard effort she put in. It was exactly what I had in my head while also allowing Emma to keep her artistic style in the makeup.
