Molly & Cale

April 07, 2015  •  2 Comments

I had the wonderful pleasure of photographing Molly and Cale's wedding this winter.  My first wedding of the year (Feb. 21, 2015) and it couldn't have been better (well... less snow would have been better).  I remember discussing with them that it's possible we won't be getting any outside portraits because there's a 50% chance of snow to add to the feet of snow we already had, but we were fortunate enough to have one of the least cold days of the month and beautiful sky.  Getting to meet these two only once before for their rehearsal I can already tell these two are going to make a great pair for a very long time.
Throughout these images you'll get to read Molly's take on her experience meeting Cale and planning a wedding.

How did you and your fiance meet?

We were set up on a blind date at the Fryeburg Fair by Cale's aunt Andrea and Adrienne's (maid of honor & also my best friend) photographer boss Kevin and his wife Pam. We met up on October 4th 2013 as Adrienne and I were working there for a few days for Kevin, Pam and Andrea at their craft booths. Andrea had a couple of nephews our age that were single and decided it would be fun if we all met up and possibly might hit it off and something might 'spark'. :) We had a nice afternoon walking around the fairgrounds all together and getting to know one another. Cale made very sure to get my phone number before they left us that evening! We all continued to see each other after the fair and Cale continued to pursue me. We fell in love pretty quickly and had wonderful times getting to know our families and doing fun activities with them.

How long were you and your fiance together & what was the length of your engagement?
We were together 10 1/2 months before he popped the question! :) Our engagement until the wedding was six months.

How did you know that he was THE ONE for you?
I believe God placed Cale in my life for a very special reason. He is so good for me in many ways & we just love being together & are growing together in God's will and word for us! I can't think of anyone I would rather be with than him! <3

How Did He Propose?
Cale is a lobsterman out of New Harbor, & we decided that it would be fun to do a family get together and take a ride on his boat and go over to Monhegan Island for the day. We went over on August 21st 2014 it was a gorgeous day! The sea was calm and the sun was warm. We finally reached the island and pulled out our lunch to eat right on the boat. We had lobsters! After we ate we took a walk up the hill to the lighthouse. After looking around in the museum some, Cale took me out to a little old rowboat sitting outside the building and told me to get in it - that his mom wanted to get some pictures of us in it. Well, I got the surprise of my life when he continued to stand in front of me, pulled out a ring box, knelt down and popped the question! I said YES! Most wonderful day of my life!!

Can you describe your wedding planning process?
I've had a great time planning my wedding.  It's definitely had its challenges but it's been a once in a lifetime experience and I've had so much help from my wonderful family and future in-laws! We are just ready to have our big day! :)

Any tips you could pass on to other brides in the planning process?
Enjoy every moment and try not to get too overwhelmed. Everything will come together with hard work and lots of prayer! But if you are too overwhelmed you can always eliminate little things that aren't totally necessary to make your load a little lighter and stress free.

These pictures really let the sweetness of this beautiful young lady shine through. Molly, you are one of the kindest people I have ever met(And I've been around a long time) This day was obviously filled with the kind of love that family, friends and faith can only provide. This is a couple that is so incredibly in love. Thanks for letting some of us share in that kind of love through these pictures.
